| Many states
( if not all ) have an office to handle consumer fraud. In some states, there are separate
offices for insurance, auto, etc. Consult your phone book under state government to see
what's available or use our listing of state Attorney Generals and Consumer
Offices. Some counties
and most medium to large municipalities also have offices for that
purpose. The Better Business Bureau is a good source to consult prior to
entering into a contract or making major purchases of goods or services. Complaints can be
filed when you know that unfair or fraudulent practices were used in your case.
In all cases where fraud is perpetrated, it is crucial to
report it. You are doing yourself and others a favor!
